Trapped Dream is a projection mapping installation collaborated between Hazel Xinyi He and Sarah Koh.
In this project, we aimed to capture a concept of a fragmented identity, loneliness and almost being trapped in our everyday lives. We wanted to express the emotions through the medium and materials, using unstable structures, cold materials, and dream-like images to symbolize such a feeling.

We created a setting that imitates a hospital-like environment, visualizing these emotions through “synaesthesia” phenomenon and visual elements to create an immersive experience. The projection objects, inspired by concepts of water, suffocation, and desperation, include elements like metal infusion stand, water, seaweed and reflective materials to enhance the narrative.
